Gina Rouse has over 20 years of experience at the highest levels of the running world. As a competitive athlete, she first met success at the scholastic level as a state champion and multiple time all-state performer at Farragut High School. She parlayed this success into a college scholarship to the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga where she became a Southern Conference runner of the year while winning individual SoCon titles in track and cross-country. Throughout this experience Gina was exposed to multiple coaching philosophies and styles that added to her understanding of the sport from successful mentors including KTC Hall of Famer Brint Adams, Bill Parker and Kelly Ivens in high school as well as Bill Gautier at UTC with teams that consistently performed at the top of their respective divisions.
Gina has continued her success into adulthood after beginning a family under the tutelage of Bobby Holcombe since 2013. With his help, she has continued to craft and update her pursuit of the highest levels of achievement as a runner. These achievements have included 4 straight Knoxville Marathon wins from 2016-2019 and countless other victories with top 5 finishes at distances from the mile to the marathon across the region and nation, culminating most recently with a 31st place finish at the 2020 U.S Olympic marathon trials in a PR of 2:38:41. Her running resume includes other impressive PRs of 16:31 in the 5k, 34:42 in the 10000, and 1:16:54 in the half marathon.
